Can It Be Maintained?

This is the first question you should ask. Is the tool maintainable? Or is it too far gone to be worth repairing/maintaining? If the answer is yes, replace it as soon as possible. You don’t want it falling apart during a project or at work. When do you get that new tools, make a promise to keep it maintained?

Flashlights are more important than we realize, so it’s important to keep them functioning well, being stuck in the dark is a situation no one wants.

Power Tool Maintenance

The most expensive part of your collection. These require special maintenance according to the manufacture, so follow their instructions. But there are a few general rules:

• To keep moisture away, use silica packs inside the containers you store them in. Rust is hard to get rid of.
• Oil, keep the gears and essential moving parts well oiled

Knife Maintenance

Chef or Carpenter, it doesn’t matter, maintaining your knives is critical to your job.

• Keep them rust-free, dry your knives and sharp tools before you put them away.
